Texas Loses a Legend

The world lost a great Texas character early last week. Sharon Fairless, better known as “Ma” and the star of our series Ma’s Roadhouse on truTV, passed away Monday, May 4, 2015, surrounded by her loving family.
Many AMS’ers got to work alongside Ma, and we’ll always remember creating some great television with her. Our team took some time this past week to reflect on our time working with Ma and wanted to share a few of our memories:

“Ma was the classic definition of a BIG character – she was playing herself – no acting needed. Watching her along with Rick and Lena run Strokers was funny and memorable. It seems like she was featured on The Soup every week.” – Andy Streitfeld, AMS Pictures Founder and CEO

“Ma was the most genuine, straight shooter I’ve ever met. There was no BS with Ma. If she liked you, you felt like a VIP.”  – Kim Clemons, AMS Pictures Showrunner

“Sharon and I flirted on set a lot. She once told me she had a crush on me. I adored her, and will forever cherish the memories of her sassy, sweet, funny, genuine wonderfulness.” – Brad Osborne, AMS Pictures Director

“I was fortunate enough to spend one of the greatest summers of my life with Ma, and what people saw on the show was only a fraction of her wit and charm, the rest we couldn’t put on TV! She lived life on her own terms and didn’t give a damn about what other people thought. I wish I was half that brave! The world was much funnier with her here, and we will all miss her.” – Katie Dunn, AMS Pictures Showrunner

Here’s to you, Ma.
